Gender and Human Security: A Case Study of the Resettlement of Rotan Batu “Widow’s Village” in Narathiwat Province, ThailandGender and Human Security – Using a gender perspective on the peace and conflict situation in the South of Thailand, this research examines the case of the “widows’ village,” known as Baan Rotan Batu, which is located in Narathiwat province. The researcher finds that women in this village continue to experience serious challenges to their human security across all 7 indicators, including economic hardships due to their becoming the primary breadwinners for their households and the post-traumatic health issues they suffer due to the violence and threat of armed conflict.
